With the rapid development of the computer technology, network technology and communicating technology, remote monitoring and controlling technology is applied more and more widely. It has become a hot topic in the field of automation. A remote monitor & control system based on the Web is presented in this paper, which synthesizes the technology of sensor, data receive and push, network communication, and the real-time dissemination on the browser.Based on the introduction of the heat exchanger control, this system uses advanced language of XML to envelope the data, and also uses XML Socket to receive and push the data actively. These technology overcome the shortage of the passive and lag of the"ask-answer"mode, and realize local renew of the Web page. In this paper, advanced embedded Web sensor is used, which has a TCP/IP protocol interface. On the remote terminal, experts can monitor and control the remote process by running the virtual controlling panel—ActiveX on the browser.This thesis gains the following conclusion:1) This system is based on Web, it has overcome the shortage of the existing monitor and control system for the heat exchanger based on LAN.2) Combined the embedded Web sensor with the advanced PLC technology to reduce the complexity of the system, it helps to develop the monitoring and controlling system in the future.3) XML is used as the criterion of the data transfer, data collection and data shown, it is useful for the information integrated.
