TV guidance is one of the widely used accurate guidance methods nowadays. The key technique to the TV weapon guidance system is the transmission of the video signal. the video signal mode include analog signal, digital signal, analog and digital signal coexist in one system. Nowadays, the TV guidance technique using analog signal in the procession of transmission has been mastered proficiently, The conventional analog signal is gradually replaced by the digital signal , because it has many disadvantages, such as its need for wider bandwidth(6MHz), the fact of being vulnerable to the noise, its hardware system is very complex and very hard to establish a common standard, while it also has some problems in the system using digital signal, The main problem is its huge volume of data. In order to get real time images with high quality, it is necessary to transmit as many data as possible through the limited channel and compress the images as well. What's more, it will increase the hardware system running speed, decrease the delay of transmission of the video signal so as to ensure the system functions at real time.Due to the special use of TV guidance, the system needs: good performance of recover image on both subjective and objective review; high compression rate and low delay. While Motion-JPEG2000 is suitable to these requests. Based on sufficient computer simulation, which proves the effectiveness and probability of the method,we used the chip ADV202 which is targeted for JPEG2000 codec together with some other assistant devices, an image compression sub-system for the TV weapon guidance system is implemented using hardware in this thesis. The input video is sampled at the transmitter of the sub-system, and code stream is sent to channel after compression. At the receiver, output video is reconstructed after decompression. The debugging results show that the system in this thesis has high stability and reliability, and it also has the advantages of small size and low cost, all of them fulfill the design requirement of the missile. Therefore, the system is suitable to production in large quantity.Every frame of the video sequence is considered as a still image and the correlative between frames is not used in Motion-JPEG2000.
