The Research Of Group Membership Protocol In Intrusion-Tolerant System

The development of intrusion tolerance is focus on the survivability when facing intrusion, and detection and recovery of the breakage of integrity as the result of the intrusion. The problem now turn out that there isn't a definite definition of the fault. Some have done a lot of work but even in the most well configure definition set of fault there are still some fault or vulnerability that can't be cover.The ITUA project which under the OASIS financed by DARPA use unpredictable configuration to make system intrusion tolerant. Intrusion-tolerant system is a distributed system that communicated by a interface called Group Communication System, the basis of the configuration is suspect/trust system that can make all parts independently draw conclusion by understand the environment thoroughly. This paper describe the enhanced GMP and make it possible to use less replica to recognize the same number of corrupted replicas and add new replicas when needed. This can enlighten the system and enhance the integrity and safety when adopt the active replica strategy.
