Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), as a high resolution microwave instrument, has an important status in the remote sensing. It has ability of large planetary image areas in all weather during day and night and has ability of penetrating, these characteristics make it very important in applied aspect. Along with the increasing and extensive application of SAR, many fields such as design of SAR system, evaluating of imaging algorithms, or reduction of noise and scatter ask for more demands and higher quality of SAR raw echoed data. This text mainly studies on the problems of raw echoed data simulating methods and imaging of SAR. It is expected that the work will do a meaningful quest and some contributions to the research of SAR raw echoed data simulation. It commences from review of the theory of SAR high resolution in the text, the fundaments and computation procedures of two algorithms for SAR raw signal generation——RTPC, 2DFFT are introduced. We use different algorithms on different SAR target model which contains point target, point array target and extend target to generate raw echoed data, then image them with Range-Doppler algorithm separately. A quantitive comparison of these two algorithms is finally studied on the aspects of error analysis, time and space evaluation. The simulation experiment results of real airborne stripmap SAR system parameters indicated that, the simulating measures we adopt are efficient and authentic. Implement of large extend target simulation with the algorithm of 2DFFT can attain high calculation efficiency and have applied value in a certain extent.
