After the concept of Digital Forestry was put forward,there are higher requirement towards scene scale and update speed in the visualization of forest land scene, according to the rapidly information increase and the continually development on software and hardware. The real-time simulation of land and vegetation on the computer, as the substitute of time-consuming and effort-consuming experiments difficult to achieve in the real world, has made great sense for the research on forest land in our country.In this paper, the interactively real-time wandering was realized in two aspects of the scene, terrain and vegetation, taking VC++ and OpenGL as the main development tools. During terrain rendering, an effective contour-interpolation method based on block interpolation and point-by-point interpolation technology was presented. This method, combined with other optimization method such as Block Partition, LOD technology based on quad tree and view frustum culling, could improve the rendering efficiency. During vegetation rendering, the modeling software such as 3dsmax was used, together with the viewpoint-based method on the choice of multi-level geometry modeling and image based rendering, which could fulfill the vision express and simplify the scene.
