Modern remote education act as a whole new mode of education , can make use of the educational resources very efficiently. It is the new educational form and the necessarily approach to realize the popularization, modernization and internationalization of the advanced education. The online homework and exam provide great convenience for distance education and have important influence upon the development of modern distance education. But System security has become one of the key problems in the online exam because of exterior security attacking. And convenient and efficient questions logging comes to be one of difficulties in spreading apply."Online Homework and Exam System" is one of the most important technological project in the national "tenth five years", is subprojects of Key Tech and Model Project of Internet-based Education. Homework and Exam System is aimed at developing an instrument of homework and exam that based on web. Homework and Exam System should support online study and exam in large-scale.This paper overviewed the structure and the running condition of homework and exam system, and introduced the system function of homework part and exam management part in detail. Encrypted cryptographic key, which need to be saved in the extern media, was encrypted with Password-Based Encryption technology and was saved in the computer file system. In consideration of promptness and economy of formulas in questions logging, modification and implementation of formulas editor was completed, and system test passed to guarantee software quality. And the thesis emphasizes on how to optimize the system performance and show layer. With all system, applying of J2EE security framework in homework and exam system was researched lastly.
