Ultra-wide band (UWB) systems have received wide attention both in the U.S. and in Europe. These systems make use of ultra-short duration (<1 ns) pulses which yield a bandwidth on the order of gigahertz signals characterized by extremely low power spectral densities. UWB systems are particularly promising for short-range wireless communications as they potentially combine reduced complexity with low power consumption, low probability of intercept (LPI) and immunity to multi-path fading. However, we are still not understand the the characteristics of UWB's channel very well, especially in it's timing changing. In order to evaluate the performance of various UWB communication systems and the processing of standardization, we need to found a accurate channel model in terms of it's working environment. In this paper, we are major in studying the modeling technology for UWB communication channel, including the model of time domain channel and frequency domain channel. At first, the basic situation of UWB in recently years is introduced. Then, we discuss the UWB's signal characteristic in the presence of Gaussion Noise and the methods of evaluating the parameters of channel. Finally, We study the channel in the time domain and frequency domain mostly. In addition to give the channel's model of each domain, we draw the simulation figure of them respectively and compare their performance.
