With the development of the laptop,its power is becoming much higher .Now in our daily life,the common switching adapters are not suitable to the needs of the market.So,the study of high-power switching adapter is becoming a hot issue.In this paper,we first analyze the basic theory of Buck converter, Boost converter and the problem of switching supply power factor,and then make a study about theory of forward converter , flyback converter, Quasi-resonant converter and two-stage converter. Though the analysis about the network, power consumption and the cost of these converters,we present the design of active clamp flyback converter high power soft-switch adapter.On the basis of the study about soft-switchadapter,we design a universal input (85VAC-275VAC) and 120W(19V/6.33A) high power soft-switching adapter successfully.It has many advantages, such as: simple network, high efficiency and low cost,which can meet the needs of next generation adapter and be used widely.
