High voltage direct current power supply(HVDCPS) is applied broadly in daily life and production, especially used frequently in military, medical and insulation test. Traditional HVDCPS mainly adopts technology of linear power supply Such type of structure makes the whole efficiency of power supply be low, common performance, large and heavy. With the development and advancement of switch power supply technology(SPST), direct current power supplies in different use are inclined to adopt SPST. Switch power supply (SPS) has been the mainstream of power supply industry due to its characteristics and advantage with which linear power supply cannot be compared. SPS applies in the field of HVDCPS. It makes HVDCPS be small, light, high efficiency and better performance.The research work in this paper aims at HVDCPS needed by design of X-ray generation device. At first, the current development of HVDCPS field is introduced, and also the basic principle of X-ray tube. It demonstrates various topology structures of main circuits of SPS. Because the convertor with single type of structure cannot meet the need of system function and performance index, it presents a combined structure, that is, the main circuit type of structure of half-bridge convertor combined boost chopper. The feasibility of system design is testified by Matlab simulation. Then, the parameters of main components of main circuit are computed. The key high voltage transformer in convertor is designed. At the same time, it points out the key factors, which have effect on performance index in the process of designing and production of transformer, and gives the solution. At last, TL494 chip is selected as the main control chip in designing of control circuit. The system feedback and PI controller consist of precision operation amplifier and separated feedback component. And digital control is made of 51 series SCM which is the most widely used in the field of control. The technology of detection is combined to compose the power supply system, which has the perfect control and protection function.The debugging procedure and process of the design are recorded in the part of system debugging, and also the waves and data in each step of debugging. What is important is that it finds and records the design defect of TL494.And the remedy way is presented. After many times tests and modifying design, a sample machine of switch high voltage power supply with high performance index is finished.
