As the popularization of network application,Internet has been becoming more extensive and complicated.Internet based on traditional "best-effort" way cannot meet users'requirements for high efficient and differentiated service mechanism.Therefore.how to improve and optimize Internet performance and to meet users'changing requirements has become a challenge.And researchers introduced IP QoS which defines the parameters of Internet performance.However,only based on the precise measurement of these parameters,can we further optimize resources allocation and improve Internet performance.In this article,IP Internet performance analysis and its measurement technology are introduced and discussed.Based on the analysis on Internet measurement methodology and network performance definition of IETF and ITU-T, factors affecting the preciseness of Internet measurement are discussed,and these factors include data package size,generating mechanism of data package and Internet route mechanism,and so on.All this provide us corresponding theory basis for simulation below.Based on OWAMP analysed.we construet Internet performance measurement architecture and explain systematically its working principle,then NPMFO is introduced,ulso we design primary function modules of NPMFO,define performance parameters selection and make a particular analysis on these parameters.Besides network delay advised by RFC2679 and data loss rate advised by RFC2680,it adds a parameter collection of network link bandwidth.In the last,OPNET is used to simulate the factors affecting Internet performance measurement.Through graph analysis and data digging,it is testified that reasonable route mechanism,specific data package size and its generating mechanism can greatly improve the measurement preciseness of Internet performance.
