During the past few years, ultrashort laser amplifying systems have been developed toward shorter pulse width, higher power, higher quality and larger scale due to its pressing requirements in the fields of high- intensity physics, fast ignition et.al.. Chirped-pulse-amplification (CPA) is the basic technique to obtain an ultrashort and ultrahigh- intensity laser. The pulse is amplified efficiently in safety by controlling the chirp characteristic of the pulse (stretched-amplified-compressed). In chirp pulse amplification system , Chirp control of ultrashort pulse is normally completed by two main components, stretcher and compressor, which are chirp conjugated to our hope. However, the existence of gain-narrowing , gain-saturation, self-phase modulation and additional chirp induced by dispersion material will prevent the chirped pulse to be reverted.This dissertation makes an theoretical and experimental deep research on the transmission and chirp effect of femtosecond pulse in CPA system. A new type aberration-free pulse stretcher is presented and the pulse compressor is improved. We obtained high-quality pulse by utilizing our home-made stretcher and compressor mentioned above in 10 TW/20 fs Ti:Sapphire CPA system which built by ourselves. The main researches have been summarized as follows.Based some definition, the transmission and chirp effect of femtosecond pulse in CPA system have been studied, especially the properties of the stretcher and the compressor. We demonstrated the influence of the initial chirp of the input ultrashort pulse and the dispersion of the stretcher on the properties of the stretched pulse, and also provided the influence of gain-narrowing, self-phase modulation, and material dispersion on the properties of the compressed pulse. Some sloving technologies were proposed such as high-order dispersion compensation ,spectral shaping and so on.Second, based on some kinds of stretchers and compressor in popular use ,we developed a new type aberration-free pulse stretcher and a TW level vacuum pulse compressor.
