The development of the internet and communication equipment has enabled new applications which include: finance analysis, network monitoring, telecommunication data management, sensor networks, etc. In these applications, the data which we called data stream is multidimensional, continuous, rapid, and time-varying, which should not only meet the needs of traditional ad-hoc query, but also continuous one for special. In the aspect of the supposes of the data and the query process technology, the traditional database management systems can not satisfy these applications. As a result, the design of a novel database system to process these applications efficiently, however, became one of the hottest parts in database research. In order to reach the demands mentioned above, our purpose is to do some research on data stream management system and implement it. The main contents done in this article are as follows: first, extending the data model of data stream. Second, designing a data stream management system prototype named GStream and its query language. Third, providing an adaptive algorithm named AFO which based on the idea of greed given in pipelined filters'order problem. Fourth, classifying k-constraints and exploring the effect of k-constraints in join operator. Fifth, importing cache in multi-way join and describing an improved method for multi-way join. Finally, GStream is implemented and the algorithms are analyzed by experiment we mentioned above.
