The 3-5μm spectral region is in the range of most promising atmospheric transmission window. This spectral region has extensive applications in military affairs. The laser technology has great military applications , Compared with the other two atmospheric windows, it is hard to obtain laser operations in this 3-5 μm spectral region. Optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) can bring tunable laser radiation output by using nonlinear optical technology. Mid-infrared optical parametric oscillators are always be aspiring studied. In this paper we obtains mid-infrared laser output by optical parametric oscillators worked with LiNbO3 crystal and KTA crystal. The applications of this laser source in active jamming are discussed. A mid-infrared image apparatus is illuminated by the laser source. The major new work in this paper can be summarized as follows:1. A compound cavity LiNbO3 optical parametric oscillator pumped by an electro-optic Q -switched flash-lamp-pumped 1064nm Nd:YAG laser is experimentally studied. Three crystals are used in different incision angles. The output idler wavelength are 3.06μm, 3.81μm and 4.12μm, respectively. The OPOs output energies are 15mJ, 8.6mJ and 6.5mJ while the idler energies are 5.2mJ, 2.4mJ and 1.7mJ at a repetition rates of 1Hz, respectively. The signal pulse width is 10ns.2. A compound cavity KTA optical parametric oscillator(OPO) pumped by an electro-optic Q -switched flash-lamp-pumped 1064nm Nd:YAG laser is...
