The drawing and document management system is a nuclear function of PDM, also is a main function unit of the CMS engineering implement of enterprise. Engineering drawing and document is a valuable engineering data and must to be preserved for all of the design institutes and enterprises. But for it's great amount and wide variety of types, it not only need larger and better place to be preserved, but also need many people to manage it. For all that, because natural environment, human factors and long time etc., many drawings and documents were defective or run down sometimes. Even important is that browsing, borrowing, cleaning up, sort, checking and approving, pigeonhole is not convenient very much. In order to solve above problems, demand carrying out electron management of drawing and document urgently. Most drawing and document management systems that adopt C/S mode are not adapt to the development of modernize design and manufacture technology, such as concurrent engineering, virtual manufacturing, agile manufacturing and network design. Therefore, demand to study and develop drawing and document management system which adopt B/S mode and based on Web urgently.In the dissertation, the selecting of operating system platform, the designing of development environment, the designing background database, the choosing of framework, B/S, and program design of the system are introduced, finally, a drawing and document management system which based on Web under Linux is designed and developed. The functions modules of the system includes: drawing management, user and purview management, statistical forms and forum etc.. The main research contents are as follows:(1) The framework of the drawing and document management system based on Web under Linux is studied, explicit the research aim of the system, functions and the supporting environment of the integrated system. Client/Server (C/S) mode and Browse/Server(B/S) mode are analyzed, and B/S mode is selected to realize drawing and document management system which adapt to Internet/Intranet.(2) Many dynamic network page techniques(CGI, IDC,ASP,JSP,PHP etc.) are compared and analyzed, the develop scheme of Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP is designed.(3) The drawing and document data is studied and analyzed, logical data model and the analyzing means of Entity/Relationship are adopted, and the system's database is founded, so it offer dynamic data support for the whole system.(4) Object-oriented design method is adopted, the system function is divided to many functional modules and the design of each functional module is studied and analyzed, and forum is designed for the system, participants can upload needed DWF file to realize to share browse and discuss online.(5) Each functional module is integrated and debugged, and the use condition and the functions of the system are summarized. Test result indicates that the system possess approved stability, adaptability, and expansibility.
