Structured light 3-D measuring technology is an effective approach to solve non-contact 3-D measurement problems, traditional machine vision loss the depth information in the process of reconstruct 3-D object from 2-D intensity image, but structured light 3-D measuring technology make up the limitation, it can depict the 3-D object perfectly.This thesis applies 3dsmax and Matlab to the computer simulation study of gray code structured light 3-D measuring system on the bases of studies that already exist. The system adopts the time encoding, project a set of gray code pattern to the object in order by projector, and the camera take the intensity image from a fixed angle. The scan angle of every point in the measurable space of system can be acquired by image decoding, use the mathematical models of the system to count the 3-D data of the point of measured object surface, deal with the data, reconstruct object surface by system software then renew the object surface.The main research contents are as follows:1. According to the system principle, we construct system mathematics model, at the same time we discuss the system parameters.2. The virtual system devices such as projector and camera, the measured object and the condition of measurement are constructed by 3dsmax, adopts those to take intensity image; the method for calibrating the parameters that needed in the process of measurement, validate the method.3. We adopt Matlab to deal with the image and compile software program to compute, so as to obtain surface information of the measured object, then reconstruct object surface.4. Analyses the cause of error through the experimental result, then according to this discuss the feasibility of practical system.
