The production scheduling is one of the most essential steps in the process industry CIPS, which is the joint of the production management and the industrial control. But there are lots of uncertainties in the actual production process. These uncertainties often can disjoint the plan, the dispatch and the control, and make the production out of line. Production scheduling in process industry under uncertainty is studied in this thesis, which is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation (No.60374056): Methods and their application of dynamic scheduling in production process under uncertainty based on autonomy and collaboration mechanism.In view of two kinds of uncertainties: operation time uncertainty and due-date uncertainty, production scheduling of batch process in chemical industry is studied in this thesis, and three formulations under different conditions are proposed, where the imprecision and uncertainty in the task durations and due-dates is described by using concepts from fuzzy set theory. Triangle fuzzy number is used to express the uncertainty of operation time, and trapezoid fuzzy number to express the uncertainty of due-date.In the formulation of scheduling with fuzzy operation time, the least make-span is taken as the objective function.
