At the same time, the data of different users are stored in different formats, there are a lot of inconveniences in transference by Internet, and an accepted data format is needed to unify all the data transferred by Internet. XML, as a data format, is widely used in the fields of database and Internet transference, which is becoming the standard of data format in fact.The widely using of XML, made the research of XML a hotspot of the field of database. Now the researches of XML are focused on storage and query. There are so many researches that the storage of XML data are implemented; the query of XML data is another hotspot.Query XML data used DTD or Schema is the usual the method, which need DTD or Schema can describe the structure of the XML data. As the data in XML format are semi-structured, whose structures are not strict and normative, and may be changed, XML data can not be query by DTD and Schema in this case. Structure indexes can give a well support to query XML data.
