With rapid growth of the Internet, IPv6 appears because of the shortages of IPv4. Due to the different comprehension of protocol implementation, the protocol conformance problem of communication equipment will become terrible. So it is very important to implement conformance test for the IPv6 products. BGP4+ protocol is a Border Gateway Protocol which is extended to support multiple network layer protocols, including IPv6 protocol. It is necessary to test the extended part for IPv6 of BGP4+protocol.We focus on BGP4+ protocol conformance testing, and discuss the method of routingprotocol conformance test. Based on analysis of the routing protocol' s features, we use remote test method and get the BGP4+ test suite by combining automatic with manual test generation. We model the part of protocol with FSM and utilize the extended UIO method to get test suite. After that we achieve the test suite by manual work for the rest part.XML is the language to describe data and independent of platform. It is the standard of denoting and delivering in Internet. We use XML to describe test case because the definition of element and mark of XML is simple and easy to learn as well as use rules. After parsed, test case based XML can be run by test system directly. In this paper, we create the XML marks to describe BGP4+ test suite, and it can fully describe all BGP4+ test suite, also it can be easily extened based on specific routing protocol. Moreover we design and implement a protocol conformance test system based on XML for Linux, and it can not only execute test suite based on its test configuration but also support concurrency of test steps.
