Research And Application Of SSL Protocol

With the development and wide application of Internet, the security of network and information is becoming more and more important and urgent. The information transmitted in network may suffer various kinds of attack because most products for network transmit the information that isn't encrypted.Secure transmission protocol in network environment is playing the extremely vital role to security of network, and has already became the important factor which influences further network's development.SSL protocol, which is based on C/S structure and protects data of application layer, is widely applied in network.China has still not fully grasped the core of techniques for information security,and do not have our own standards.So Security for network relies mainly on imported products.Because of foreign restrictions in main network security protocol, products exported to China have been weakened.These products can not meet the security requirements of our network applications. Thus, it's very necessary that safety standards with independent property rights are developed by absorbing foreign advanced ideas and algorithms.SSL protocol uses symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption, message digest, digital signature, digital certificate and other cryptographic techniques.In this paper, these techniques correlative with SSL protocol are firstly intruduced, then principle and working process of the SSL protocol are discussed in detail. There are two methods of data encryption: symmetric algorithm and asymmetric algorithm.
