| The Wireless Communications technology and the Computer Network technology are converging after they have been developed rapidly in recent years. The Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is the product of the convergence of these two new technologies. WLAN is widely used in more and more areas as the relative technologies such as software technology and IC technology have been developing these years. WLAN is helping people to achieve more efficient and convenient work and life environment.The special features and evolution of WLAN are introduced in the thesis. The WLAN technology is thoroughly studied. Then the thesis focuses on the networking technology and security technology of WLAN. Those key technologies of WLAN are analyzed in-depth in this article. Based on these studies, one WLAN solution of the catering information system is provided. In order to fulfill the specific requirements and distinct characteristics of the catering information system in Chongqing, a secure, highly efficient and appropriate Catering Information System based on WLAN technology is designed in this paper.Chapter 1 briefly introduces the objective of this thesis and some other engineering background of the project. Chapter 2 is the general description of the development history, future trends and advantages of WLAN technology. In Chapter 3, the networking technologies including the relative standards in the world are introduced. Chapter 4 explores the key technologies of WLAN such as networking and security. Chapter 5 presents the complete WLAN solution for the catering information system including the system design, installation and debug processes.The presented WLAN solution for the catering information system is a very good practice and verification of this new technology. The solution integrates the new technology and the management. The WLAN solution has been successfully applied in more than 10 restaraunts'information systems including Chongqing Ju-Feng Restaurant. |
