In recent yeas, the communication undertaking in our country is in the ascendant, so the reconnaissance survey and design task of bridge is very hard. To improve the quality of bridge design, quicken the construction of communication, many manpower and material resources are devoted into the computer software development in bridge reconnaissance survey and design. Bridge is the important construction in road system, and the construct analysis of bridge is the key to road reconnaissance survey and design.Although people have developed many program systems for bridge analysis specially, their usability was still short of convenience. At the same time, for the history reason, limitied by the researcher's ability and the technical localization, some defects of these programs have appeared. These phenomena are not suit with our bridge undertaking. So, the crucial need is using the advanced software theory and technical to develope a new bridge structure analysis system.This task analysis the current problem and defects in currently bridge structure analysis systems. associating the discuss of basic theory of bridge structure analysis, combining the technic of object-oriented, vector graphics, modern database, ActiveX, and finite element method (FEM), this task develops the advanced bridge structure analysis system. It's a exploring and practice of modern software engineering theory in the fields of bridge structural analysis.This paper researches the follow contents mainly:1. Developed the bridge structure analysis system named BSA by using the method of object-oriented, and realizing the main function.2. Providing the process of bridge structure analysis with FEM by OOP, which resolved the problem of maintenance and extension about such traditional software.3. Showing the vector graphics technic in pre-processor of bridge structure analysis system, which improved and visualized pre-processor, advanced the efficiency of data input and bridge design, for the convenience of user's operation.This bridge structure analysis system have applied to the design of Chaoyangshi bridge in express way around Chongqing city (continuous rigid frame bridge, 1523m long, maximum span up to 130m), which produced a remarkable benefit in social and economy fields.
