A Content Management Middleware Based On J2EE

At the beginning of the development of a company, Informatization construction usually lacks of overall planning. Many different application systems will be introduced into the enterprises, but there is not a standard data transaction interface among the systems, therefore the differences among the systems result in many information isolated islands.Through the study to three popular content management systems, and the core concept and architecture of content management, we give the concept of content management middleware. With the content management middleware, we can integrate many content management systems. We extract a series of abstract concepts of content management in this middleware model, such as ItemClass, Repoltem, Repository, they are the basic elements of this middleware model. We also define the operations of content management. Based on the above middleware model, we developed a content management middleware platform based on J2EE. Lastly, we developed an information integrator system based on the platform which can manage the content of the differerent content management systems, this system validates the availability and feasibility of this model.
