With the increasing development of optical network and optical technology, next generation optical network appeared which is represented by Automatic Switch Optical Network (ASON). Through the introduction of intelligent network control technology, it can allocate network resource dynamically, and then meet the needs of users and operators better. Production and routing are two vital technologies which greatly impact the performance of optical networks. Meanwhile they are distinct and relative. Routing technology completes optimal lightpaths selections in normal condition, and production technology ensures the restorations of affected traffics in failure condition. In this dissertation, our research work focuses on production and routing technologies in next generation optical network. In this dissertation, the protection technoloty and the routing of multi-granulity technology are introduced. As for the protection technology, two protection technologies, SRLG path protection algorithm and P-cycle protection algorithm, which are payed much attention at present, are described in detail. The routing and waveband resource allocation problems are introduced also in this paper. Several new ideas and algorithms for solving these problems are put forward by author in this dissertation.SRLG has become a common sense in network failure management. SRLG-based path protection can largely reduce the possibility of working path and protection path failing contemporarily and improve the survivalbility of whole network. Chapter II of this dissertation explains the concept of SRLG and the basic theory of SRLG protection, and analyzes the key issues in SRLG protection. Comparation among several SRLG protection schemes is made, and two improved heuristic algorithms are put forward in this chapter. The first algorithm is Dynamic K-Shortest Paths on Wavelength Plane (DKW) algorithm, into which K backup routes are introducted to dig out potential routing information in the topology as much as possible, so as to obtain the optimal protection resource allocation in the whole network. The...
