Design And Implementation Of Resource Management Function In Softswitch System

NGN is an integrated and opening network, which can provide voice, data and multimedia services. As the core calling entity, SoftSwitch has become the hot spot in the domain of telecommunication and computer.Resource management (RM) is one of the important functions of SoftSwitch. The objects, which need to be managed by RM, include various devices and resource in SoftSwitch system. Because of the integration of network, SoftSwitch system has to manage a lot of devices and resource which have different types and the method of management is intricate. It is necessary to research the resource management function of SoftSwitch system. This thesis mainly focuses on the design and implementation of functions concerning resource management.The main contribution of the thesis includes two parts:1 The thesis puts forward a method of resource management based on logical devices. The concepts of operation zone and working group have been put forward to fulfill the requirements of different user. Supporting operation zone and working group is the basic requirement of SoftSwitch system. Operation zone and working group are all logical concept based on user management and resource management. The method of resource management based on logical devices needs thinking over three questions: how to divide physical devices, how to organize the data of logical devices, how to realize the mapping of logical devices and physical devices.
