It is one of the goal of the 3rd Generation Mobile Communication System to support multimedia services. Well QOS guarantee is necessary for providing multimedia services. It is very important for 3G system to provide comprehensive QOS guarantee mechanism. And the air interface is the bottleneck to achieve QOS guarantee for 3G services. UMTS system (WCDMA system), is the first 3rd Generation Mobile Communication System which has clear definition of end-to-end QOS architecture. Using resending method, Radio Link Control (RLC) layer in WCDMA air interface protocol stack can compensate high layer transport performance affected by radio channel.Concerning to packet data service, this article study QOS guarantee mechanism in WCDMA network and analysis packet data process procedure in WCDMA air interface in detail. Then a wireless interface protocol stack emulation model is constructed, and a WCDMA wireless interface emulation platform is realized. Finally, a WCDMA streaming service emulation system is set up. Base on these, author use diverse emulation parameters to test the effect on streaming service by RLC transport mode, and analysis the emulation test result.Study indicates that WCDMA system gives out a comprehensive guarantee QOS architecture and guarantees QOS of packet data service in jitter, error rate and throughput with corresponding protocol and configuration from core network through UTRAN.
