Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technologies become research hotspot now, because they can provide reliable high-speed data services within very limited spectrum. Channel estimation is very critical for the implementation of broadband wireless mobile communication systems. In this dissertation, research work involves channel model and channel estimation, among which channel estimation is the main theme.This thesis describes channel estimation schemes for MIMO-OFDM systems, and focuses on least square (LS) criterion based channel estimation schemes. Pilot of comb type has robust performance when the channel changes quickly.When transmit high speed data, the channel is usually sparse, so tracking of multipath time delay can improve the channel estimation performance and reduce the computation complexity by decreasing the dimension of estimated parameters.Finally, The estimation formula, constraint condition, MSE...
