Radio frequency transceiver circuits have a very broad range of applications. As a result, RF front-end circuits become one of the most active research areas in wireless communications. This paper mainly focuses on the issues of RF receiver. The subject comes from the project "Regional radio navigation receiver" of Automation College, Harbin Engineering University. The author was responsible for implementation of the RF receiver in the system. The RF receiver consists of a RF front-end, 3 DDS synthesizers and a high-speed A/D converter. The high-intermediate-frequency superheterodyne structure with twice conversions is adopted in the final scheme. With two cascaded AGC units the receiver system gets a high dynamic range while the linearity of the system is well guaranteed. At first, the deep analysis of receiver parameters is introduced in this paper. Subsequently, the design methods are introduced about receiver with high linearity and high dynamic range. At last, the system scheme analysis and proof, implementation of each functional unit, some questions paid more attentions on system design and debug are discussed in detail.
