This paper designs the software of gimbaled Inertial Navigation System(INS) simulator. The simulator is composed of system simulation and element error analysis. It has a visual user interface which can display the navigation information dynamically and offers functions of simulating the vertical channel and estimating the precision of inertial components according to the system required accuracy in Gimbaled INS.The paper first establishes the mathematic models of the simulator, analyzes principles of the system work states and work modes and gives the simulation that verifies the correctness of the established models. Second, designs a third order vertical channel damping network based on the feature of the channel, and the result shows that the network has achieved the specified requirement. In order to estimate the inertial elements' precision, the paper starts with analysis of the characteristics of system error model, builds the coincidence relation between navigation information and system error sources, separates the system error equation and gives the estimation procedure. At last, the paper shows the structure of the simulator and realizes the software. Meanwhile, considering the actual demand of the 915-IIF INS training simulator, the paper also designs and realizes the INS ActiveX control that has successfully embedded in the development of the training simulator.
