In addition to having the same functions as the traditional electric sensors, the fiber grating sensor also has some special characteristics such as distributed sensing, resist to electromagnetic interference, high precision and long-term stability. In recent years, fiber gratings have shown an enormous potential on sensing applications in smart structures and composite materials.In this paper, the contents are listed as follows:1. A solution has been proposed for avoiding strain and temperature cross sensitization according to principle of fiber grating. Strain and temperature is measured by experiment at the same time.2. Fiber grating is manufactured by application of phase mask means, which is of low requirement of time coherence and monochromaticity for light-source , simple craft and high rate of finished products.3. We prepared broadband source of transducer system in fiber grating by analyzing characteristics of amplification spontaneous radiation spectrum and LD drive in erbium doped fiber.4. The solution of matching fiber grating filtration demodulation has many advantages such as simple construction and cheap manufacturing, and we emulated this demodulation by using simulink platform of Matlab.
