As the rapid development of Internet, IPv6, supplying a large scale of address space, has its own essential advantages and functions, which enables it to be the important base of next generation network. Meanwhile, Mobile IP offers infinite networking roaming service. Based on the excellent prospect of IPv6, current researches are almost base on IPv6. Mobile IPv6 with simple extention satisfies the demand of most mobile users through supplying a golable unique address to each mobile terminal on the Internet. In a word, the times of digital electric is coming and information electric equipment will be more and more popular in daily life. In the future, besides computers, electric equipment such as TV, fridge, air conditioner, and microwave oven and so on, will all get fixed IPv6 address to connect to Internet. Mobile IPv6 improves usage ratio of Internet by optimizing the routing between correspondent node and care-of address, so it is important and necessary for correspondent node to support Mobile IPv6.The article, first, simply introduces the principle of Mobile IP and Mobile IPv6, then compares Mobile IPv4 and Mobile IPv6 and analsys the advantages of Mobile IPv6 to indicate the importance of correspondent node's supporting to Mobile IPv6. After that, it introduces Mobile IPv6 protocol in detail, especially the operating process ofcorrespondent node and the software and hardware background------IPv4/IPv6 dualprotocol stack on LCNA. At last, based on previous principle analysis, compared with the implement under Linux and Windows, the article describes the design and implement of correspondent node on the existing protocol stack, including the definition of data structure, interfaces, the design of the protocol and the testing result of the protocol.
