The mutual coupling between Phased Array Antennas elements causes the loss of reflected power. Following the changes of scanning angle, mutual coupling between elements will also change, so the comensation of mutual coupling should become difficult. Well, Phased Array Antennas is composed of thousands of elements. If the mutual coupling between each radiating unit is taken into account, it's absolutely hard to de this work by single computer.Based on the questions above, firstly two examples of array antennas have been emulated, which validates the correctness of the commercial software Ansoft HFSS. Secondly, by analyzing parameter S, a new array antennas model has been presented in which the middle element has the same feature of that in large Phased Array Antennas. So we can only study the mutual coupling between the middle element and others around, that approximately equals to study the mutual coupling between the common elements. Finaly, to reduce the reflected volt of the middle element, namely compensating mutual coupling, we may put metal between the elements in its E-faces because in this place the mutual coupling effects is much more serious. At different scanning angles, by analyzing the effects that the surrounding elements on the middle one, we conclude that the reflected vote of the middle element decreases, that's the loss of reflected power decrcases, so the input power will increase. Emulating results prove that this method is valid.
