As the development of automation and computer technology, reduce of cost and escapefrom homogeneity between different manufacturers, nowadays automobile industry isrequiring much more in electronic control, communication and network, etc. This promotesautomotive electronics to an important degree. While technology of automobile industryrepresents the level of integrated technologies of a country, it makes great sense to research anddevelop the foundational platform of automotive electronics. The thesis first introduces the application of automotive electronics, and the history ofOSEK/VDX which is an magisterial specification in European automobile industry. Someresearch findings and commercial products are also introduced.Next, each main part of OSEK/VDX is analyzed including OS, COM, NM and OIL. Thepurpose, the key mechanism and algorithms, and the APIs are focused on. The change logs ofspecification are picked out. Some confusions and issues are discussed.Based on the above, a Hopen-based OSEK implementation has been done, in which OS isredesigned from Hopen while COM & NM are using CAN as underlying layer. Details ofdesigning and implementation are given, as well as the optimization and improvement forsome algorithms and issues. In addition, the thesis proposes a solution to I/O layer which is not defined in OSEK, aswell as the test of portability to some non-OSEK OS and other network protocols. The hardware and software environment of the system implementation, along with thetesting and demo cases are given as the result. At last, a summary to the thesis is given which mainly reaffirms the research andimplementation of Hopen-based OSEK benefits the inland automotive electronics and theentire industry chain. Further more, according to the trend, some disadvantages in theimplementation and possible improvements are pointed out for future work.
