Till today, not any revolutionary change happensin book's primary shape, which is composed by four physical factors------words, material, edition and production and three abstract contents------loaded-knowledge as well as its ways of expressing and organizing, since it was produced in the old age.Based on the viewpoint above, the whole article stretches through five chapters:Under the backgrounds of large-science concept in the research of history and culture, at the beginning, chapter 1 presents a review of theknowledge process, then from the three most intimate disciplines------publishing science, communication science and library-related science, argues the studying issues and interests about knowledge, culture & communication of each field and their relationship. All these theories and research visions offer the base of further research out from the multi-and-inter-disciplines.Based on the analysis of knowledge scope, knowledge and culture, andknowledge sense, chapter 2 puts forwards a time-and-space coordinate as the research environment, points out that the evolution of all kinds of time and space factors, especially the human, are the motive force in the evolving and communicating process of knowledge. In the time-and-space coordinate advanced above, chapter 3 discusses the communication feature of publishing activity, mainly makes an analysis of book's concept, each factor of its primary shape, as well as the relationship between its catalogue and knowledge evolution, indicates that the evolution of book's factor and book itself reflects the route and directions of knowledge evolution and knowledge communication.Chapter 4 is the extension of chapter 3, by a series of gradual and illustrative analyses of evolving process of every factor in the time-and-spacebackground, from four physical factors ------words, material, edition andproduction, to abstract knowledge and its ways of organizing and expressing, towards parts and the whole of each, reveals the real routes and directions of knowledge evolving and communicating via book.Chapter 5 is the part of conclusion. This chapter, back to the common, draws out that the knowledge evolving and communicating routes and directions are natural and un-foreseeing. The considered routes and directions not only are the simulation of reality, but also come to be a paradigm or generality. But the reality of knowledge evolution and knowledge communication indicates that knowledge out of the paradigm tend to be more meaningful as a result. This article concentrates on the research about knowledge evolution and knowledge communication under the cultural backgrounds provided by book. Advocating people re-concerning book and pushing forward the interdisciplinary research are the terminal purpose of this essay.
