Magnetic induction tomography(MIT)is a new imaging technique of conductivitytomography. Comparing to ultrasonic and X-ray imaging, the equipment and detectioncost of MIT is much lower and it is a real-time, noninvasive and contactless technique.MIT has important application values and widespread prospects in researchingphysiology functions of human body, diagnosing diseases and clinical monitoring. We have done some basic researches on MIT:Firstly, we designed MIT hardware system based on 8-coil excitation and receptionmode, including excitation source, coils and phase detection device, by which we couldacquire imaging data. In two model experiments, we studied the relations among theinduced voltage in coaxial reception coil, coil spacing, the conductivity and the volumeof imaging object.Secondly, we derived the partial differential equations and virtual displacementequations in the forward problem of MIT, based on which we simulated 3-D MIT systemusing commercial FEM software. To overcome the limitation of Magnetic Dipole Method,we originally proposed Ring Coil Method to solve the forward problem of MIT in 2-Dsituation.Finally, we developed a reconstruction method for MIT. In this method, SimulateAnneal Arithmetic (SAA) is employed for computing the conductivity distribution. Theimaging experiments demonstrate that this reconstruction method could generate theconductivity image of aluminum block in brine with high resolution.
