This thesis has introduced the third generation of mobile communication'sdevelopment. It focuses on designing the part of TD-SCDMA handset'shardware schematic based on SoC chip, and has realized Camera function andMelody mechanism at the frame taking SC8800 as main chip. It is the base ofthe future 3G handset's functions, including visual,flow media,MP4 and so on.TD-SCDMA standard is one kind of the third generation of mobilecommunication. It was put forward to International Telecommunications Union(ITU) on behalf of our country by the group of Datang Communication.TD-SCDMA technology adopts the mode of Time Division Duplex (TDD). Itcan send the uplink business in different time slots of the same frame structure(the communication service from user equipment to base station) or downlinkbusiness (the communication service from base station to user equipment). Thatis to say on the basis of the types of the data transmitted, frequency spectrum ofdownlink or uplink can be assigned in a flexible way. As send E-mail anddownload Internet information at the asymmetrical data business from basestation, more time slots will be distributed the downlink. As carry onpronunciation telephone at the symmetrical data business, the uplink anddownlink business occupies the same time slot. Characteristic of Code DivisionMultiple Access (CDMA) access technology can support a lot of users at onetime and the same transmit channel. Signals transmitted are distributed on thewhole bandwidth, thus utilize existing spectral resources more effectively. Thiskind of flexibility makes the transfer rate of the data can be up to 2Mbit/s.TD-SCDMA has combined the advantages of TDD and CDMA, can deal withhigh transfer rate. Uplink and downlink business flexibility can meetasymmetrical requirement of business too at the same time.What this thesis did is to realize Camera function and Melody mechanismat the frame of TD-SCDMA handset hardware platform taking baseband chipSC8800 as main chip. This style of handset was used for testing if the functionsof Camera function and Melody mechanism were realized at TD-SCDMAhandset frame successfully. And it is the foundation of realizing the multimediatreatment technology on this frame in the future.The main work and content are sum-up as follow:The dissertation consists of six chapters.In Chapter 1, Have introduced the development course of mobilecommunication and the content of three main standard of the third generationmobile communication briefly. Have analyzed research background ofTD-SCDMA standard and handset. Also have put forward the research and themain work of this thesis.In Chapter 2, Have analyzed the hardware principle block diagram of theTD-SCDMA handset taking baseband chip SC8800 as main chip, and havedetailedly analyzed every component's hardware schematic design on thishandset frame.In Chapter 3, Have designed and realized the hardware circuit, drivesoftware and man-machine interface (MMI) programs of Camera function at theframe of TD-SCDMA handset hardware platform taking baseband chip SC8800as main chip.In Chapter 4, Have designed and realized the hardware circuit and relevantsoftware programs of melody mechanism at the frame of TD-SCDMA handsethardware platform taking baseband chip SC8800 as main chip.In Chapter 5, Have recommended some basic rules and attentive matters ofdrawing PCB board of 8 layers. Have introduced problem and solution met indebugging Camera function and Melody mechanism programs.In Chapter 6, a brief summary is set out.The main contribution of this dissertation is listed as follow:(1) Have analyzed the hardware principle block diagram of theTD-SCDMA handset taking baseband chip SC8800 as main chip, and havedetailedly analyzed every component's hardware schematic design on thishandset frame. It made a good foundation for adding more functions on thisplatform(2) Have designed and realized the hardware circuit of Camera function atthe frame of TD-SCDMA handset hardware platform taking baseband chipSC8800 as main chip. It made a hardware platform for realizing Camerafunction. Have made driver and MMI programs and enabled Camera to worknormally. So it makes user operate handset's Camera function flexibly andconveniently. It is the base of the future 3G handset's functions, includingvisual,flow media,MP4 and so on. And it offered a very good applicationprogram interface. And it is a good foundation for handset's upgrade andExpansion.(3) Have designed and realized the hardware circuit and relevant softwareprograms of melody mechanism at the frame of TD-SCDMA handset hardwareplatform taking baseband chip SC8800 as main chip.(4) Have recommended some basic rules and attentive matters of drawingPCB board of 8 layers. Have introduced problem and solution met in debuggingCamera function and Melody mechanism programs.Because TD-SCDMA user equipment is still improving one, now thishandset play a test and debug role, and it is a good foundation for handset'supgrade and Expansion.What that should be done next is:(1) Well carry out the transition to the integrated level and handlingcapacity higher chip on the basis of this handset with Camera taking MV3018 asmain chip, thus realize the function in the 3G mobile.(2) Look for the chip with lower in cost and higher in integrated level tomake the function of the TD-SCDMA handset diversified and humanistic.(3) Further improve the systematic hardware design, improve theperformance of the whole system.
