Hopping frequency (FH) communication technology is the important part of spread spectrum communication, which is widely applied in anti-jamming communication. Since it was brought forward in the 1970's, it has got attentions worldwide in military and commercial communication. After that it has been verified as a major communication technology in wireless network. A new technology of adaptive is applied in hopping communication system, with the development of radio communication and anti-jamming communication technology, as well as high quality of communication is demanded. Adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) is based on auto analysis of channel capacity, it can avoid interference channel, and keep the high-quality communications in no interference channels with the minimum transmitting power and low probability of interception. This thesis introduces the basic principle of AFH technology and realization related in key method of AFH. By setting up a simulation system of AFH with SystemView, the outstanding advantage of this system is proved.The thesis describes the principle and scheme of FH and design of coding. Then jamming technology in FH is studied, repeated jamming and wide band jamming are also analyzed. Then the Optimal method of interference is presented. At last, the adaptive way is used to avoid such interference. On the base of simplified introduction of the AFH technology, the thesis mainly discusses the channel quality assessment and the channel mapping, etc... By means of the simulation software SystemView with DLL of VC++ 6.0, the performance of the system is simulated and analyzed. The results show that the traditional FH system which cannot avoid interferences leads to high byte error rate. But the AFH system can adjust to external environment and change its parameters. It conquers the limitations of FH system and has the better anti- jamming performance than FH system.
