With the development of human society, the intelligent machine is used more and more in industry production and human life. To enable the intelligent machine server humanity better, research workers are striving toward making the machine have similar abilities as the human eye sensation ability and the brain decision power. The task of machine vision research is to enable the machine observe objects as human vision sensation.The crucial content of the machine vision's 3D reconstruction is to get the 3D information of the object's character points, and the object's 3D shape can be gained by certain construction methods with the gained character points. The research emphasis of this subject is constructing binocular vision system based on the method of binocular stereo vision of the machine vision to get the 3D coordinate of the goal object's character points.We constructed a binocular vision hardware system with one image collection card to control two cameras based on personal computer to capture the goal object's images from two different space points. And then, we converted color image to gray image with programs those programmed by VC++ language, and filtered and sharped it too. After that, we detected corner points with Harris comer detection method as character points for following matchingWe calibrated cameras by Tsai two steps method and used the pain template as calibration pain, and then got the inner and extemal parameters of the cameras. After we collected two images of a same workpiece with two cameras, we pre-processed the images and detected the character points with Harris comer detection method, and then we matched those character points first time based on epipolar line restriction. After that, we matched the character points again with gray similarity theory.Based on the results of the cameras calibration and character points matching, we reconstructed the character points according to the mathematical model of the space point, and got the 3D coordinates of the character points. At last, we introduced the others methods which used in 3D reconstruction too.
