A distributed sensor network is composed of a large number of sensor nodes that are densely deployed. They are being deployed for a wide variety of applications, including military, security, environment monitoring, traffic control, patient monitoring and tracking, manufacturing industry, opposing terror networks and fighting natural calamities. With the research further and applied widely of sensor networks, security has aroused great concern. Because the limitation of sensor nodes' calculation speed, power energy, communications capacity and storage space, and usually deployed in harsh, unattended or even hostile environment, security communication in sensor network becomes extremely important. In security communication of sensor network, the confidentiality and integrity of information are critically important. This makes key management and authentication information in a sensor network security research become an important issue. Based on the security needs of wireless sensor network, and several key pre-distribution scheme for wireless sensor networks, this paper made an intensive study of key pre-distribution scheme, and by means of pre-distributed polynomial in 3-dimension gridspace, proposed 3-dimension grid-based key pre-distribution scheme, which not only has the properties of high connectivity and low overhead, but also performs much better than any other schemes in terms of resiliency against coalition attack. Through the analysis of several key pre-distribution scheme, this paper gave a survey on performance criterion. In the end, the paper analyzed the theory, models and the construction of authentication codes.
