The agricultural expert system is based on agricultural knowledge and imitates the agricultural expert to carry on the computer programming system which deduces decision, can assemble a single agricultural technology synthetically , realize more high-level multiple agricultural technology integration. It answers, explains or judges on the agricultural problems to be solved and proposes the solutions, enables computer to play a role of multi-level,and multidimensional human experts in the agricultural activities. It is foreseeable that the future agricultural expert systems development will be toward networking, integrated direction.Currently the questions in agricultural applications software such as standardized intensity, reusability and developing efficiency, etc. have been agricultural expert's system integration bottlenecks. Traditional agricultural expert system integration uses middleware technologies, the need for a unified platform to provide basic operating system services and network services. Client and the service provided by the system itself must close coupling, different platforms expert system integration needs complex interfaces function mutually, the system integration and maintenance costs considerably. In addition, each station is independent as to all expert systems, and is one-off development from the perspective of implementation.Each change of the system needs to be accomplished by specific programmer. Thus, the methods reuse implemented expert systems by means of cross-application integration has become extremely difficult. Because each site has its unique expert system based framework, if one changes, then the application will use it to be done accordingly, at the same time these applications can not be integrated conveniently. But Web services, characterized with self-contained, modularization and loosely coupled exactly meet this requirements. iThis article pays more attention to the application of XML Web services on the agricultural experts system integration, proposes the utilization of Web Service in heterogeneous system integration, and constructs a agricultural expert system integration model, combines the advisory function module of planting technology of protected horticulture vegetable planting expert system that author take part in, creates and deploys Web services on the Visual Studio.NET development platform. The services may be used by other agricultural expert systems, By which developer can establish a complete system of agricultural expert system by way of integrated services and functions (on the Internet provided by Web services) . Consequently proves that the communication between heterogeneous system can be achieved high efficiently by Web Services, the agricultural expert system integration can be realized in deed.This article describes in detail the XML Web services' development, registration and calling processes, Web services description and testing, as well as the use of XML Document Type Definition (DTD) norms required information, provides agricultural expert systems integration with a feasible solution.
