Multi-agent technology is a new method to solve the problem of complex distributed control system, it is one of the hotspots in the artificial intelligence research field. It's a new research aspect used in the coordination control applied research of production line system that emerged in recent years and has the important practical significance to the development of multi-agent theory. For the complex industry process or the management project with huge process which are distributed in the space, the function and the time, if used sole system (expert system, nerve network, mathematical model etc)to carry on the control or the management, it will be defeated because it does not have the enough knowledge, resources, information and ability, one of effective way is to use the multi-agent technology which divide the complex task into many sub-tasks which are performed by the single agent or the agent community according to the function, the spatial, or the time. They will complete the task together through correspondence and coordination.In view of the actual multi-production system and based on reading massive domestic and foreign literature and present research foundation, the multi-packing production lines are took as the research object in this article and a versatile and enable expanded production line mode is constructed. Induced and withdrawn the problems which urgently need to be solved and carried on the research of multi-agent technology and its key technologies in applied research in the article. The main research works and innovates of the article are as follows:1. Induced and withdrawn the related technology and theory of agent, multi-agent and Petri net after determined planned to solve the task allocation, cooperation, coordination, fault diagnosis knowledge expression and fault diagnosis inference question of multi-production lines.2. Studied the realization method of task allocation based on the basic multi-agent technology that used in the multi-production packing lines system, and gave the principle and thewhole process of negotiation of task allocation. Proposed the generalized consuming matrix which contained the time cost, the confidence level, the energy consumption and the effect to environment of system, established the concrete formula of how to compute confidence level, the energy consumption factor of system. Changed the task allocation problem which considered factors above all to the standard Hungary algorithm question and discussed nonstandard task allocation problem. Developed the simulation software used LabVIEW.3. Analyzed the agent structure of the existing production line system, established the multi-production lines system model and the multi-blackboard cooperation model of multi-production lines. Established the coordination model of multi-production lines used Petri net theory and carries on the simulation used HPsim software, proved the feasibility of coordination model, pointed out its advantages and disadvantages.4. Studied the Petri net and fuzzy Petri net theory, established the fault diagnosis Petri net model of partial multi-production lines, produced the fault diagnosis inference algorithm and an example of multi-production lines system.
