With the rapid development of the computer and microelectronics, photoelectron technology,The LED display has become a kind of electro-midia which has become popular in industry, agriculture, transportation, business and advertisement. So the LED display has rapidly become the popular production in the flat display in the recent decades.and so the LEDs has applied in information industry abroadly.This article mainly talks about the technology of controlling the LEDs and its integrated applications.In the application the hardware consists the SBC(single-board computer) and the wireless module which has primes 2.5 IC and USB interface, because it is necessary for communications between the LEDs matrix system and the PCs,the author has also written series of drivers which based on Linux and WLAN.the embedded system consists the design of hardware,the transport OS on ARM,the program of drivers,the design of firmware on CPLD and the applications.In the hardware system the CPU is the S3C2410X which has the high ratio between quality and price.and its periphery has CS8900A on LAN, HY57V561620BT and K9F5608U0C etc.In order to gain the more control ability,the CPLD of the Atlera company has used to expand the extend IOs. The software mainly consists then LAN driver,the USB module,the WLAN and the CPLD drivers.the LAN is designed for the debug of the OS and the applications.The function of the USB module is to input some data from a USB mobile media where the signal of WLAN is not received.The main transmit between the LED matrix and the PCs is the WLAN module,which has some advantages especially under the scurviness environment.The CPLD module is designed to expand the control ability of IOs.The article has five chapter.The first chapter mainly talks the base conception of the embedded system,the technology of the LED and the status of the Linux OS.the second chapter explains the development environment and summarizesthe design idea of the system.the third chapter introduces then replant of the Linux.the fourth chapter talks about the drivers of the COM,LAN and WLAN.and the last chapter mainly discusses the applications and the implement of the system.
