Today, the software and hardware technology of the computer is developed at full speed, the ability of single chip to deal with data and support outside resource has already reached the unprecedented height, the rapid development of the embedded system is a distinct example. As embedded system and relevant products are entering the personal consumption field constantly, user's requirements for this kind of product amusement function are higher and higher, the various conditions has already ripe to develop the high-performance game software based on this platform.Because game industry enters this field relatively early, based on embedded platform game softwares research and develop by production firm themselves. As the hardware products type of this platform is various, and the producer is in consideration of respects such as the intellectual property right of one's own products ,etc, the game software product developed out often lacks the commonability.This paper aims at studying the mechanism based on game engine of embedded platform of a kind of development, adopt the abstract way of the hardware layer to relieve the problem of different hardwares platform with bad portability, have realized an engine system with 2D RPG game engine framework . The composition structure of this engine systems, has consulted the 2D game engine realization on the traditional PC platform, divide to engine kernel including graphic subsystem , textout outputing subsystem, clock subsystem, supporting subsystem, controlling subsystem, physical subsystem etc. and function module including message subsystem, scene displaying and walking subsystem, fighting subsystem, environment supporting subsystem ,etc. and go on in detail designing, and has carried on rational simplifying to every module of engine according to the characteristics of embedded system.For proving feasibility of engine , based on this engine and HI970 embedded systematic developing platform of Fujian Handinf scientific & technical corporation, have realized a simple RPG Demo game. It possess each indispensable key element intraditional RPG game, for instance: big map , the scene of fighting , task system ,etc. Though every part of game is simple relatively to commercial edition game software, it has achieved the key purpose to prove to every important module of engine.Introduce the concept of the platform game engine of the traditional PC to the game of embedded platform while developing , can divide the designing work of game clearer , professional game company can put more energy into game frame and drama design ,and ability of good playing, do not need to invest too much manpower and material resources for some concrete technological details .
