Multi-sensor information fusion means processing data from more than one sensor to get new efficient information, which is not available from any single sensor. Multi-sensor information fusion has been developed into an active research field. So it is significant to further get access to this field and apply this technology to the guidance of underwater weapon such as torpedo.Model ocean war change rapidly, submarine navigate under the ocean quietly and hit enemy 's ship hardly in different places and time. Submarine is developing in the direction of deep oceans, rapidly speed and quietly navigation;it tries the best to take possession of the earth's inside space for dealing with potential intimidation. With the developing of fore-alarm technology in recent years, capital ship can't snugly approach attack target, so submarine is become the most depended flat roof of ordnance and the most effective strength of the second nuclear attack..This paper researched multi-sensor data fusion as the background of submarine target recognition. Underwater target recognition can't ascertain the object's type and it's characteristic .In development of modern military affairs, submarine target recognition made use of the underwater navigational characteristic and distilled the sensor data, and then fused multi-sensor data. The veracity and betimes of battlefield target recognition has the most important significance for the latter evaluation of situation and intimidate. It is the key of getting victory in wars living up to "Being aware of myself and himself bond to be success."The developing history of multi-sensor data fusion technology and it's researching meaning and actuality in the target recognition was studied in this paper. The arithmetic of multi-sensor data fusion and it's researching status of inside and outside country was also reviewed. The paper studied multi-sensor data fusion technology and it's theoretic investigation in correlation technology for realizing the under-water object identify. The main content is listed below:In the facet of basal theory of data fusion: The basal conception ,fusion principle, history of development,survey of application, structure level etc. were comprehensive expatiated. The principle, structure characteristic and the main fusion arithmetic of data fusion function model and structure model were also given.In the facet of object identify technology of multi-sensor data fusion: Firstly object identify arithmetic was classified. Then it expatiated Bayes consequence , Dempster-Shafer evidence consequence , the best ways of identify fusion and object identify arithmetic of NN.In the facet of submarine target recognition: According the analysis of submarine characteristic, the sensor used in the submarine object identify were idiographic deployed. At the same time the analysis of example was applied the target recognition of data fusion . At last several kinds of target recognition method were compared and developing direction were prospected.
