With the rapid development of Internet, popularization of personal computer and the needs for the high speed commerce of the people, electronic commerce has greatly developed within the range of world and traditional commerce is gradually replaced by electronic commerce. As electronic commerce has rapidly developed, security of electronic transaction of digital works is becoming more and more important. Under the environment of Internet-based electronic commerce, digital works are easily copied and distributed illegally which greatly disturbs the development of electronic commerce. Thus, how to protect the security of digital works information and assure the fairness of the electronic transaction has become the common serious problem concerned. This paper aims at researching on a digital works electronic transaction platform based on fair exchange protocol.Firstly, the paper analyzes the security of computer network, describes some mechanisms of encryption and decryption, and then discusses kinds of verifiable secret sharing mechanism. Secondly, this paper aims at the security and fairness issues in the process of electronic transaction of digital works, introduces such fair exchange protocols as self-enforcing protocol, on-line third party protocol and off-line third party protocol, and brings forward a fair exchange protocol with a distributed semi-trusted third party based on publicly verifiable secret sharing for preventing a trader colluding with the semi-trusted third party to deceive the other sides. Finally, the paper research on the problem of how to apply fair exchange protocol to system of digital works electronic transaction, and design a electronic transaction platform of digital works, then puts forwards a platform of digital works electronic transaction system by integrating digital watermark technique with fair exchange protocol. The platform solves the copyright protection for digital works and fair exchange on Internet.The fair exchange protocol with distributed semi-trusted third party is presented in the paper, which is improved the requirement of acquirability and assured the fairness during the transaction, has the characteristics of less communicated loads, the semi-trusted third party only needed to work off-line, the semi-trusted third party can not obtained the deal secret and so on. The fair exchange protocol applied in the platform is better than the old protocols, it can request less to the network, reduce the network bandwidth share, bring out good effects in each relative aspects.
