According to the special need of military communication such as the portability of device and lower power consumption, this paper studies the transmit and receive system of a kind of portable base station and places emphasis on its RAKE receiver. The transmit and receive scheme of the system are designed in the paper. The key techniques and algorithms related to the system including the DDC, match correlation, multipath search, channel estimation, demodulation and multipath combining are discussed in detail. Based on the discussion above we use VHDL to implement the function of the FPGA part on the hardware board. After testing the system some related simulation results and test results are presented. At last some questions needed to be studied further are introduced briefly.
