A new kind of Data Acquisition System is designed in this thesis, which is based on Universal Serial Bus (USB) technology with data acquisition, analysis and display together. The advanced performance of USB with high_speed, HotPlugIn, Plug and Play, easily to expand and engrossing less syetem resource is shown in the system.Based on the research of this thesis, the USB2.0 bus technology is introduced firstly in this thesis, including bus attributes, data flow model, data flow types and so on, and then the design of the data acquisition system is discussed in detail in which there are four parts: hardware design, firmware design, device driver and application program. In the part of hardware, the performance of USB2.0 controller FX2 CY7C68013 is described firstly, and then the hardware design scheme is given in detail. In terms of the firmware design, the FX2 firmware flow provided by Cypress Company is described, and the firmware design of GPIF is given in the following in detail. In the part of driver program, WDM (Windows Driver Model) is introduced and the USB device driver of this data acquisition system is given. At last, the application program based on the LabVIEW is completed.The data acquisition system based on USB bus provides a more effective, more economical and more convenient way to collect data.
