The potential strength of the UWB radio technique lies in its use of extremely wide transmission bandwidths, which results in desirable capabilities including accurate position location and ranging, lack of significant fading, high multiple access capability, covert communications, and possible easier material penetration. In recent years, ultra-wideband (UWB) communications has received great interest from both the research community and industry.This thesis investigates the construction of the standard model for ultra-wideband indoor communication, and evaluates the performance of UWB_LDPC concatenated system and UWB_BCH concatenated system. The main results and contents are as follows.Based on resent research for wireless communication model, the paper introduces the expression and construction of ultra-wideband communication channel model, especially the IEEE 802.15.3a standard model and its strongpoint. The algorithm features of LCPC and BCH are introduced. Based on Tanner graph, the representation and sum-product algorithm of LDPC codes are addressed. The BM algorithm of BCH codes is addressed. Finally, the factor to impact decoding algorithm is analyzed.By theoretical analysis and simulation, UWB_LDPC concatenated system and UWB_BCH concatenated system is studied. Simulation results indicate that the UWB system coded with LDPC codes performs better than that coded with BCH codes.Because of UWB is fitted communicating in indoor environment, the author choose IEEE 802.15.3a standard model as simulation platform, and analyze the performance of UWB_LDPC and UWB_BCH from two aspects. In further research, the other codes can be also concatenated in order to choose the most best one used in UWB communication channel. Furthermore, it will be more applicably to be communicated in multi-channel than just single channel. By the way, how to set key parameters properly is also of importance.
