The image of conventional Digital Radiography is the projection summationof every component in x-ray channel. Not only the resolution in depth is lost,but also invalid and redundant information is brought. These invalid informationprevent available information's acquisition. In order to eliminate thisinterference, we acquire the image with different beam of narrow spectra andput image fusion into practice.In the paper, the origin and spectra of X-ray is researched in terms ofphysics. Based on the relation between X-ray and substance and the specialityof wide spectra, K-edge filter is studied to turn X-ray into single-energy. Bythe conventional X-ray digital imaging systems and a piece of filter boardbetween the X-ray source and imaging object, multi-energy X-ray imaging systemhas been designed.This article employs the fusion method of stack, weighted average methodand wavelet transform to study the multi-energy X-ray image fusion. In virtueof image fusion, the interference of invalid information is eliminated and allkinds of materials are distinguished. In the process of image fusion, wavelettransform is improved to enhance the details. An average image fusion algorithmis proposed on frequency extent. In addition, low pass filter, homomorphic filterand wavelet enhancement would be used before image fusion and every filter methodis effective. Pseudo color enhancement is proposed after image fusion and theimaged object inner layer will be more intuitionistic.Finally, a software, which is developed with VC6.0, applied in themulti-energy X-ray image fusion is designed.
