The coordinator of infrared guidance weapon is consist of infrared optical system, modulate or scan unit,detector and gyrorotor .It provides the information of target's angle coordinate and help the control system to adjust weapon's aviation direction to track the target. The discrepancies introduced from coordinator's material distribution and assemble procedure cause vibration and force nutation when the gyrorotor is rotating. Vibration and force nutation will not only reduce coordinator's longevity and reliability but also decrease weapon's performance.Therefore, the vibration and force nutation of the coordinator must be precisely balanced.This procedure is called the dynamical balance of the coordinator. This paper discusses the structure and principle of the coordinator,analyses coordinator's dynamical balance and introduces the design of a full-automatic instrument for measuring the dynamical balance of a coordinator gyrorotor. This instrument uses an adjustable diaphragm blackbody radiator and a reflecting collimator to simulate objects of various size,range and radiation characters, and uses a 89C51 micro controller system to process the measurement. By combining the strongpoints of advanced optical technology and conventional electronic method,the instrument can measure both viberation frequency and viberation phase simultaneously and accurately. The research work described in this thesis origins from project "dynamical balance measurement instrument for coordinator gyrorotor",which is a cooperative project by HUST and CAMI.This project was checked and accepted recently.
