Pulse diagnosis is one of the most important parts and the most characteristic diagnostic methods in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). pulse diagnosis has been applied to clinical diagnosis widely.Along with the development of sensors and computer technology, a great progress has been made on the development of pulse acquisition sensors and sphygmogram in TCM at home and abroad. The objective study of TCM shows that, besides the information of pulse pressure, the pulse has much information including pulse tube volume, blood speed and 3D motion of pulse tube etc. So detecting the pulse information by pressure pulse sensors can't reflect the whole information of pulse quantitatively. Nowadays, at home and abroad, the research of acquiring multidimensional pulse information based on image is still in vacancy, Therefore, to obtain multidimensional, dynamical, overall pulse information, we study on the pulse detection method based on image and creatively bring forward to acquire pulse using high speed, high resolution camera. This method can not only promote the objective study of TCM, but also create the condition for pulse diagnosis automation. The research has broad prospect of clinical application study.First, we analyze pulse signal form mechanism, pulse signal analysis based on two elastic reservoir mathematical model was established, which bring the theoretical basis to analysis the internal relations of pulse and multidimensional feature information parameter, and proves the value of clinical diagnosis for extracting multidimensional feature information from pulse signal.On this basis, according to principles of bionics, with studying on the combination between the theory of 'best pulse-taking pressures' of TCM and the theory of grid's 3D displacement under bearing and deforming of thin films, we puts forward a new method of pulse acquisition based on image, a new device is developed. The motion of the grid thin films can be acquired by the device, which can characterize the multidimensional information of pulse.Then, image preprocessing is made on pulse image acquired, including image contrast enhancement, binary segmentation, binary close filtering and binary thinning, all of these algorithm has been studied detailed. We also analyses and realizes the grid cross's feature extraction and the grid's tracking and matching.
